The lights are low, the floor is glowing, and Delaware has a winter sport again. Race team, shuffle crew, speed shop — and a seat in the members' area with your name on it.
Join the Club — First 50 FreeOne club, three programs and a shop — all right here. New to skating? Start in Spark. Everybody does.
The beginners' program — for every beginner, any age. Learn to skate: balance, strides, stops, first speed steps. Spark is rung one of the ladder — Spark → League → Elite — and it feeds both arms of the club.
Start in Spark →The club's speed team, with its own house on this site: skater profiles, race-night standings, the racing ladder. The Flyers race in three tiers — Spark to a travel elite — and a second Flyers team opens in phase two, so the two teams race each other all winter.
Enter Ignite →The adult shuffle crew under the disco lights, with Twigs & Pebbles for the kids — the crew's own page: what shuffle is, crew nights, and how to join. Battles, crew nights, the light show the way it used to be.
Meet the Crew →Skates, wheels, bearings, big duffel bags, hats — a real one-stop shop in the back of the rink. Member pricing beats anywhere else. Skaters buy where they skate.
Step Inside →League racing under the lights every Wednesday, standings, rivalries, a championship — and a travel team carrying Delaware up and down the coast. A real season, October 1 to April 1. Every racer starts in Spark and climbs: Spark → League → Elite.
Never raced? Never even skated? Perfect — Spark is built for you. Spark is the club's beginners' program for all ages — kids, teens, and grown-ups who haven't laced up in twenty years. Balance, strides, stops, turns, falling safely — then your first speed steps or your first shuffle steps, your pick. Spark feeds both arms of the club, and it's rung one of the ladder: Spark → League → Elite.
6:00–8:30 PM — coaching night, all tiers
6:30–9:00 PM — the weekly card, lights up
5:30–7:00 PM — Sticks & Stones
Daytime events & races, workouts when school's out
Club instructors inside the rinks' own lesson time — shuffle with music, dance skating, first speed steps. Corey teaches.
Giving back to the community — reviving speed skating and shuffle in Delaware. Every penny goes back into the club. Rink staff skate free, because they're family. And when kids outgrow it — they will, and they should — Spark rotates the next ones in, and the graduates become junior crew and coaches. The floor never empties; it renews. Every race night is filmed, and every skater gets a profile page with their clips, right here.
Three lines of colors — Club, Ignite, Sticks & Stones — real garments on real photos. Nothing cheesy, ever. Our gear partners, the people we do business with:
Bont · Riedell · Southeastern Skate Supply · RC Sports · Bones Bearings · Roller Derby / Pacer — with Sure-Grip, Luigino, Atom, Labeda, KwiK, Vanilla & Snyder joining as accounts open.
Everything happening with the club lands here first — this page is the club's front door and its news board.
First State Skate Club is being built right now — the charter, the crew, the founding season. This is the ground floor.
Come meet the club before the season starts — meet & greet sessions at the rink, no skates required. Watch this page.
Dealer accounts are opening and the wall is filling — speed first. Members buy through the club cheaper than anywhere else.
Join the mailer — the first 50 sign-ups get membership FREE.
Signing up puts you on the club's mailer — the list that hears everything first. Joining the list is always free. And the first 50 people on it get club membership FREE — the full membership, with the welcome kit: a club lanyard, stickers, and little badges you put right on your skates — all kinds of goofy little stuff, so the club rides with you everywhere you roll. After the founding fifty, membership is $10 for the year, kit included. New club, new members — everybody joins. And racers: Ignite skaters earn a different set of badges — the speed team's own set, earned on race nights, distinct from the club badges.
